Easy Tips for Great Skin

Continuing with your skin as your garden, let's make sure the soil is correct for growing beautiful flowers...that's the pH balance of the soil.

Your outer skin (epidermis) is slightly acidic, a pH level of 4.6 to 6.2 (7pH is neutral like water). Bacteria thrives in an alkaline environment (over 7ph) so in order to prevent breakouts we have to maintain your ideal pH.

Soap, some cleansers, some toners are very alkaline so look for products that say "balance" your pH. When your epidermis is in balance it holds moisture (less wrinkles), holds in nutrients and protects you from ultraviolet radiation. Yes, prevents you from AGING! And reduce further breakouts for acne!

What can you do: look for "balance" pH in soaps, toners. Avoid alkaline products like body soaps on your slightly acidic face. Start using organic (non toxic) products.

Extra tip: your eyelids are the thinnest skin on your body (0.05 mm) so avoid lotions, moisturizers in that area. Use only Eye cream so that area won't clog and cause trouble. Remember moisturizers seep up to lower eye, so don't go too close.)
